Damn. I look fat in that photo. The tape is for faux, not for regular painting. I don't use tape to get straight lines....no good painter worth their salt does. :)
One of these days you'll have to share the secret of painting straight edges without slopping over. . . I've tried, it's hopeless. . .
BTW: I have the same floor tile in my kitchen (only the 12x12). I love it!!
Did the Penis and Testicles really add anything to the show, or was it just to apease the owner? We both know the answer. . . When will people grow up??
Right now, there are 10 million middle-age women out there that would kick your ass for complaining about how you look. . . LOL!!!
I was painting the interior of a fancy complex home last fall when a lady came to look at the layout in the kitchen so she could make an estimate for the countertops.
She asked how I got such neat lines.
I said, "Oh, with about a half bottle of Peppermint Schnapps."
Karen, thanks, wait til you see the after shots, we should be done Thursday!
Lauren....P & T (Terry, actually) was a big help really, he worked all day taping too and his truck is bigger than mine so we used it to load all the scaffold. Otherwise I would've had to empty mine all out.
BBC - haha! I'll have to remember that one! My usual comeback for that is "expensive brushes and 28 years of experience."
FAT??? I don't think so. You look in great shape. My dear hubby is painting our front sitting room in the new house this week. Lots of chairail molding, crown, molding, etc. and a bay window. I'd actually be willing to help as I enjoy painting, but he is retired and I am still hard at work.
I've been a painting contractor since 1979, with forays into other ventures along the way. I have painted shopping malls, Victorian mansions, new builds, striped parking lots, thousands of homes and businesses, freeway retaining walls and underpasses...pretty much anything that stands still long enough to be painted.
I've run crews and been a foreman (forewoman, I guess) and taught many people the craft.
Dogmuse is recently reincarnated. In my 16 month absence, it continued to get a fair bit of traffic, according to sitemeter. Oh dear, another abandoned blog? Nope.
I am 50 and live in Michigan with two Rottweilers, a Nottweiler and three accidental cats. I do agility and paint houses and write sometimes. My favourite icecream flavor is peanut butter. I can probably beat your ass at Scrabble. How's that for succinct?

That is a massive room and I don't think you look fat in the picture.
