Just another Monday....

First thing I did Monday morning was dump a quart of paint all over the carpet. After cleaning that up, I brought in the ladder from where it had sat outside over the weekend, only to find boxelder bugs had set up residence in one of the rungs. All day I was taking wandering bugs off the walls and releasing them outside. Then I realised I had miscalculated paint amounts (you'd think I'd never do this after all these years but I still do) and couldn't finish the one big wall without a trip to the paint store 20 miles away.
Tuesday was looking pretty good though.

I just love that sign in the preceeding post and am going to copy it and put it up in my cubicle even if it is not PC. What on earth do you do to get the paint out of the carpet?

I had a day like that too! We had to repaint the shakes on the peaks of the Retirement Home Project I've been working on (forever it seems). Colour change after it's all finished of course. After heading back to the shop to pick up the 40 foot ladders, paint store to get the new paint, and cleaning out of the sprayer (of course the last guy didn't clean it, what was I thinking!!) We finally plugged in around 2pm, After 45 minutes, my brother comes around all excited proclaiming "the first peak is done!, it only took 45 minutes, making serious money today!" to this I stared at him for 2 minutes making him very uncomfortable, and the explained to him that it still cost my 8 hours of labour because he'd been there since 8am......but I'd be happy to pay him for 45 mins of work if that's the way he see's it!!! Oh well, tommorrow's another day.....to lose money!

Scott, had to laugh... I've had a string of those days of late.

That's why we charge the 'serious money' - so we don't lose our pants on days like these. Funny brother!

some walls just suck up more paint than others..i know alot of painters who automatically added an extra gallon of paint for each job...even if he didnt use it..the home owner could have it incase kid wrote on wall, wall got scrapped.etc...

That's what I want to know too, how did you get the paint out of the carpet? How long did it take you? I have spilled quarts of paint on the tarp or on the table but never on carpet. Hope the rest of your days are awesome for awhile.
